snom technology ag and ESTOS, a manufacturer of unified communications software, have teamed to in an effort to provide IP Phones with combined VoIP technologies.
Under the deal, the companies expect to exchange specialized knowledge to help common customers and create new synergies, according to Florian Bock, managing director at ESTOS.
“We expect this partnership will lead to some interesting projects,” said Bock.
The ESTOS ECSTA for snom is a professional middleware for SIP phones and converts the snom CTI interface protocol into the Microsoft TAPI standard.
“In particular the third-party support, which permits the use of snom telephones in Unified to Communications solutions and other applications also in large firm's structures, is a further step into the right direction,” said Michael Knieling, marketing and sales executive committee with snom. “This opens also in the future various new market segments to both partners. ”
In addition, the driver is available in 32- and 64-bit Windows operating system compliant versions, allowing for snom telephones to be used with common Microsoft TAPI capable applications and professional CallCenter, Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) and UC applications.
The implementation is completely independent from the chosen PBX vendor or the preferred SIP service provider.
There is a single seat and network option for different needs.
The ESTOS ECSTA for snom (single seat) is designed for a TAPI driver for small offices and home working scenarios that enables this CTI with all MS TAPI compliant applications for dialing with a mouse click from Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Dynamics Navision.
By contrast, the ESTOS ECSTA for snom (network) is a TAPI driver for an office environment with many empoyees and large company networks, according to the company. It provides via a central instance a third-party Microsoft TAPI compliant feature set for multiple snom devices. This enables applications to monitor and control multiple snom lines in parallel mode and offers professional third party remote call control in a network for Call Center, CTI and Unified Communications applications.
